If you go to a hospital, it is the prerogative of the hospital to decide which Doctor will see you.
If you are particularly keen to be seen by a special Doctor then the Hospital authorities will first confirm from that Doctor whether he/she wants to see you or not.
Remember that you are not an emergency. All doctors of the hospital can refuse to see you and ask for you being referred to a Tertiary Care (Super -speciality) Hospital

It doesn’t matter which doctor you choose male or female, all the doctors who are doing ethical practice with the medical etiquettes they don’t treat based on the gender, color of skin, or the caste of the patient, they just see whether the patient needs to get treated or they just need reassurance and some emotional and psychological support. They just wanted to deliver the care to the patient which is most indicated, helpful and beneficial for patient.

Same way its patients responsibility to trust the doctor and the treatment or management provided by doctor is in the best interest of patient, patient must be having a trust, be respectful and appreciative for the efforts of doctor, the least they can do is show some gratitude!

So in my opinion if the doctor is not seeing the gender before treating, just looking for the best outcome in patient’s health or condition, then patient also doesn’t really need to look for gender if he/she is looking for treatment!
