Charcot foot can be turned normal
My grandma is suffering with charcot foot she is under treatment but the leg is swelling and it is red. It is not yet reduced. Doctor diagnosed vascular disease in both the legs and diabetic neuropathy. Ankle deformity and She has all the complications like diabetes pressure cholestrol she has undergone surgery for hernia 2 times. Is there any chance legs will turn normal? If not how can it be maintained and prevented from further complications ?

Osteoporosis is common in this age group, which further aggrevates pain, but she is diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy which is one of the common causes of charcot. Treat osteoporosis with calcium and vitamin-D supplements along with bisphosphonete therapy with caution, for neuropathy take neurotropic medication

Share the picture of the foot and x rays if done. If not done get the x rays done. This gives an idea about the stage of Charcot foot. Also have to rule out infection.
