Changes of acute appendicitis.
My niece Rehan 12 years old having stomach pain several times from the last 6 months . We had done the sonography report and blood report and shows the changes of acute appendicitis and in blood report wbc count 5900 . Please advise the better traetment is surgery is compulsory or any other method like medicine course will help to recover ... Please advice best solution. Thank you Hanif Tamboli.

Appendicectomy should be done. MEDICINES can only help during acute phase. It can not prevent reccurrance of pain. Also serious complications can occur during these RECCURRANCT attacks.

Get CT scan abdomen and pelvis with contrast. If she is improving with nonoperative treatment in 48-72 hours wait otherwise will need operation.

Appendix when inflamed may get gangrenous and may rupture leading to a high mortality.Si if the symptoms develop again please consult for laparoscopic appendicectomy
