My wife is in 9th month pregnant.. 32 weeks completed.. How to check cervix is dilated or not? Will it dilate oly during labour time or before 2 to 3 weeks itself or is it the sign of labour that is going to happen within 24 hours

Dont do things unnecessarily like finding dilatation of cervix ...she s only 32 weeks now..
once she crosses 37 weeks cervix will start ripening on its own..
