Hi
your grandpa's hemiplegia or hemiperesis s due to focal damage to brain tissue due to cutoff of blood supply to that part...can be because of ischemic or hemorrhagic cause...repeat attacks depends upon underlying cause which has caused hemiplegia....since your history s too small and incomplete it's hard to suggest...kindly give full details or consult physician with all relevant details they will guide you further

stroke can be hemorrhagic or ischemic
first dis has to be found out if its hemorhagic...it will be mainly coz of rupture of aneurysm....
clip can be placed on the artery  and bleeding can be stopped.....
ischemic stroke thrombolysis or thrombectomy is done
patient will be prescribed anti thromotics...thrombolytics
his bp has to be in control
lipid profile should be normal
shud not smoke
to prevent further attacks
kindly consult neurologist. ..
there is always a chance of recurrence of stroke
