Please find attached CECT report of Thorax. We have reported to doctor due to the increased of ESR and seasonal cough only. Patient is asymptomatic, good appetite, no fever, no weight loss in last 4 month , Sputam is negative, Patient is feeling well. According to CT report doctor further advised for Bronchoscopy for BAL and FB.
However, my mother cardiac condition is not good after echo EF is 30 - 35 %. According to cardiologist opinion bronchoscopy can be done with high risk .
Due to the cardiac condition we are not going to bronchoscope , but Pulmonologist says it is 5 minitus of procedure , patient will relief to home on same day . But we are on risk after bronchoscope if any cardiac arrest are attacked to my mother.
In continuation to above what is experts opinion bronchoscopy is really needed as patient is asymptomatic or any other options??

Your mother had active infection in lungs and added on bronchiectatic changes altogether and sputum reports are negative as per history... Repeat smear exmanination and culture can be done with proper sputum induction... but fibre optic bronchoscopy will give better results in this case with high risk as cardiac instability is also there ( EF 35%)
Next Steps
follow up with Sputum culture report will be adviceable
Your mother is having bronchiectasis, and infection. If possible give a good sputum for culture and sensitivity test, and see the growth and start antibiotics. Get back once the culture results are ready. Can wait for sometime if she is not very sick.
Bronchoscopy would definitely help but with her cardiac status if she is not very sick I ll wait.
Discuss with the doctor if you feel takensecond opinion. Alternatives like wait and watch or monitoring on simple anti biotics may be considered but discussing will make it less difficult to take a decision.
