My father is advised to get cataract surgery done. But He is Diabetic, recently sugar level was 280. So i wanna ask does he need to control the sugar level before undergoing surgery or it has nothing to do with it.

He must control his blood sugar  within normal range before undergoing cataract surgery other wise it may lead to secondary infection &other complications after surgery.

Post lunch sugar should be lower than 200-220max. This is paramount to avoid infection and other complications. Thanks
