Cancer Ascending colon , Stage IIIA
My mother's lap( Rt) hemicolectomy is done. Now doctors have called her for chemotherapy . Its moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma (Grade 2) & Stage- T3N1bMx. I wanted to know how long chemotherapy will go & will she be absolutely fine after that? Once chemotherapy is done is there any chances of reoccurrence? What type of food can we give her for her well being ?

She would require chemotherapy for 6 months. She has around 20-30% chance of disease recurrence over 5 years so she has to be on regular checkup. Immediately after recovery from surgery it's better to give her high protein diet to regain the lost weight and make her fit for chemo
Next Steps
Meet medical oncologist for chemotherapy.
