Hi. Best is to sleep on back upto 1 year of age is recommended . Avoid baby sleeping on tummy or on sides ideally till 1 year of age. Once an infant can roll from supine to prone( back to tummy) and from prone to supine(tummy to back), the infant can be allowed to remain in the sleep position that he or she assumes. Because rolling into soft bedding is an important risk factor for suffocation after 3 months of age, parents and caregivers should continue to keep the infant’s sleep environment clear of soft or loose bedding. Sleep surface must be firm and not soft.
