Brush bristle softness- soft/medium/hard
Hello Doctor, What kind of tooth brush to use - soft/ medium or hard? 2 years back I used to brush with SOFT brush. But with the suggestion of a doctor changed to MEDIUM brush  - Doctor said - "how come a soft brush can remove dirt and clean teeth, should use a medium brush which can brush off germs" like that. But previously other doctors suggested to use SOFT bristle brush to gum safety and for no harshness on gums. Please suggest. Thank you

Choosing the right toothbrush bristle firmness is a matter of personal preference, but it's generally recommended to use a soft-bristled toothbrush for most people. Here's why: Gentle on gums: Soft bristles are more flexible and less likely to cause irritation or damage to the gums. They are considered safer for your gum health, especially if you have sensitive gums or are prone to gum recession. Effective cleaning: Contrary to the misconception that soft bristles are less effective, they can still effectively clean your teeth and remove plaque when used correctly. Proper brushing technique and spending an adequate amount of time brushing are more important factors for effective cleaning than the bristle firmness. Protecting tooth enamel: Hard or medium bristles can be more abrasive and potentially wear down tooth enamel over time. This is especially true if you tend to brush too forcefully. Soft bristles are gentler on the tooth enamel and can help maintain its integrity. It's important to note that regardless of the bristle firmness, using the correct brushing technique is crucial for maintaining good oral hygiene. Here are some tips for effective brushing: Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gum line. Use short, gentle, circular motions to clean each tooth. Brush all surfaces of your teeth, including the front, back, and chewing surfaces. Spend at least two minutes brushing your teeth, twice a day. Replace your toothbrush or toothbrush head every three to four months or sooner if the bristles become frayed. Ultimately, the best toothbrush for you is one that you find comfortable to use and allows you to effectively clean your teeth without causing discomfort or damage to your gums and enamel. If you have any specific concerns or questions, it's always a good idea to consult with your dentist

Soft brush is very effective Important is use in vertical strokes for brushing teeth rather routine horizontal movements Or atleast brush in circular motion if vertical is not possible for you
