Brown spotting at 16 weeks
I noticed brown discharge on 7 Sept and doctor advised me to go in for a cervix length test the next day. I also took a Proluton injection and restarted Dydrogest. Results came back and cervix measures at 3.2cm and no signs of placenta previa or funneling. Fetal heartbeat was measured at 145 BPM. I have a slightly low lying placenta but it is at 1.5cms; and I am told that this normally fixes itself in a few more weeks. The brown discharge stopped for a few days, but now the brown discharge is back. It is not heavy discharge, just little spotting and streaks when I dab with a towel. I do not have persistent cramps or back pain, just intermittent cramps that come and go across the abdominal area. Should I be concerned? I am due for an anomaly scan on 29th Sept.

So mild pains which go and come are normal during pregnancy, since you have a low lying placenta , which migrates in later months, but you need be careful In fresh bleeding. Continue medication as per your gynecologist and wait till Anomaly scan is done. If symptoms increases consult asap. Connect for more

The brown discharge is definitely not normal The most probable reason would be a low lying placenta You need rest and progesterone support

Spotting is due to low lying placenta Take rest Avoid traveling, lifting heavy weights, bending over Placenta will shift upwards by 7-8 months
