Breastfeeding duration
Hello Doctor, I was advised by pediatrician to feed the baby every 2 hrs. The duration of every feed should be 1/2 an hour. If I feed her by 6am, the next feed should be by 8 am correct? In spite of this burping will take 15 min after evey feed. Most of the time she is not sleeping after burping. N sometimes she is crying. When she tries to sleep in 10 to 15 min next feeding cycle will start. Will she get adequate sleep? Do we need to wake her up for feed  even if she sleeps on that time? My baby is 54 days old and 2.7 kgs. Her birth weight is 2.88kg Pls advise

Baby's weight is below birthweight though baby is 54days old, its not good sign.. You have recheck your latching position...consult pediatrician as baby us not gaining weight to rule out any pathollgical problems and need to investigate... Watch for urine output...
Next Steps
visit pediatrician as soon as possible..

Congrats for the newborn. Do enjoy the baby by giving exclusive breast feeding .feed the baby only when baby demands rather than clockwise. Baby will suck well and take nutrients just in few minutes . The additional time baby clings yo the Brest is only for secure feeling. If the latching you’re breast is proper there would be no difficulty in burping. Your baby is fine the way is fine too . Do determine for exclusive breast feeding till baby is six months . We wish you the best

Feeding on demand is enough for a normal child. But as per your information the baby is not growing at all... you need to meet your pediatrician directly for futher evaluation

For baby who born full term and birth weight is more than 2.6 kg, there should be demand but adequate feed. So first i need some history detail of child.Second thing is child weight is 2.7 now and birth weight is 2.8 kg and child is 54 days so child is not gain weight adequately. This child need some attention and evaluate. Check that breastmilk is adequate or not. Give milk when child is adequate hungry and when you give give adequate and atleast for 20-25min. During that time also child is sucking most time. If child sleeps during that time wake up him and give. Even after that child is hungry then you can give express milk.
Next Steps
Consult pediatrician online or in person for details

I would want to double check the current weight of 2.7kg.. Which is low for a baby of 2.88kg birth weight.. Feeding on demand is the best .. But the weight is my concern.
