A child takes his quota of feed in the first 5 to 10 minutes of feeding session.then the baby might suckle for the next few minutes.max upto 10 ;anything more than that is not required.if the child passes stool 3to 4 times and urine 8 to 10 times a day and sleeps for 30 minutes or so and on regular weighing is showing a steady weight gain.then it's ok.after 5 months you can decrease your frequency of feeding or add top feed if you feel the child is not fulfilling the above given parameters.
Next Steps
after 3 months a child should be taking 8 breast feeds per day at least.each lasting for 10 to 20 minutes.
Health Tips
if you plan to start top feed please give either formula or full cream and start after 6 months of age. give top feed by katori chamach. avoid bottle feed. take care of your body and diet to maintain good milk output.

As and when required by the baby.. babies are not machines which requires intake at fixed hours. Kindly make sure your kid is passing urine every four hours and gaining weight
