Brain clot
Hi.. My brother is suffering from Brain clot.. Earlier he got treated for 5days in icu . Doctor said for surgery thn we shifted him to another hospital.. After CT scan and MRI he was hospitalised for 15 days.. After that doctor discharge him from hospital saying that clot is not too much can be cured by medicines. He has improved but still has speech issue specifically relating the item names. Medicines prescribed are.. 1).levepsy 1gm..2).diamox 250mg...3).metaspan...4).acitrom 4mg /3mg..5)naxdom....6)looz.... Will he be able to recover completely.. Are medicines OK or do we need to consult more

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  He will recover but we cannot gurantee how fast of how much he will recover. When there is a clot or a bleed, nerve cells die and once they are dead, then cannot regenerate back. However certain amount of reconnections can happen for which medicines are prescribed.  The medicines which he is taking are ok. Consult a neurologist in person for further evaluation and management.  Best regards.  Dr. Anil kumar jain.
