Two 5 mg tablets provide the same total 10 mg dose as one 10 mg tablet but the exact medicine should be confirmed before substituting. Please consult me with the medicine strip and prescription so I can check the drug, assess whether weight gain could be a side effect, and advise you safely.

If both tablets contain the same medicine and formulation, 2 tablets of 5 mg generally equal 1 tablet of 10 mg, but confirm this with the prescribing doctor. Do not change the dose on your own. Weight gain can be a side effect of some medicines and needs review along with diet, activity and other causes. Please share the exact strip/photo and book a Practo consult with me for a safe medication review.
