Booster dose
My friend had got 4 dose of rabies vaccine 4 months back ,last dose on 18th Oct 2022 But again he got bit few days back ,so we took him to PHC where they suggested 4 more doses . So is 4 more doses necessary, because I read online once if someone is vaccinated and get bitten within 6 months only 2 doses are enough

If you have been vaccinated (atleast 4 doses) and you are exposed to dog bite by an unknown dog within three months you need to take only two doses. If the exposure is after three months then you need to take all the four doses.

It depends on the type of wound. And the cut off period is 3 months and not 6 months. Did his wound bleed or was it just a scratch?

If bitten whithin 6 months nothing needed if bitten after 6 months 2 doses at 0:3 days
