Blood Infection & PUS in Urine
My mother is aged around 58 years and she is diabetic. Few months she started to develop fever with chillness and after some time she has develop pain in her back. Test revealed that kidneys were not working properly and her CT scan & PET scans were normal. After 2 weeks of antibiotics through IV her condition became normal. But still reports are not coming normal and creatinine level is around 2 & still PUS Cells presence in the urine. Now recently she once again started to have fever and chills in night once or two times in a week. What can be the future course of action as still doctor is unable to indentify the cause of infection in her body.

She needs a thorough work up. Blood and urine cultures for bacteria and fungi. If this is normal then we may need to look for tuberculosis or other foci of infections. Please follow up with a Nephrologist and infectious disease specialist.
