Blood in stool
My boyfriend has been seeing blood inside of his stool every now and then and he is worried it could be something serious and plans on going to the doctors for this. He is 23 and has no insurance so I'm wondering if it is something common or something he should go see a doctor for.

At other times it may visible on toilet tissue or in the toilet after a bowel movement as bright red blood. Bleeding that happens higher up in the digestive tract may make stool appear black and tarry. Per rectal examination is done to diagnose the cause. Consult general surgeon.
