If baby is highly irritable with excessive cry, folding his legs while cry and passes red gelly like ke stools - immediately consult and go for ultrasound abdomen.
Next Steps
if baby is passig only slight amount of blood in stools without above symptoms -go for stool routine test and then consult.
If there is excessive cry or vomiting then do ultrasound scan and if there is no abdominal distension or excessive cry then do stool routine microscopic examination.
Next Steps
if any danger sign seen go for vedio consultation or visit to pediatrician
Matter of concern.. yes if it's recurrent or associated with irritability. Watch for frequency of stool and it's consistency.
Next Steps
1) if it's just one of incidence... wait and watch
2) if irritable then ultrasound abdomen is required
3) if associated with increased frequency, needs treatment for dysentery
Good morning
Is the baby having any symptoms like pain abdomen, excessive cry, decreased feeding, vomiting etc
If the baby is asymptomatic doing fine , you can wait.
If these are present better to consult a pediatrician
Hope it helps
