Blackish purple patch under toe nail

Asked for Female, 23 Years

Hello doctor I have observed a black patch under my toe nail (thumb) from one of the edges. It has a purplish periphery and does not hurt. I didn't notice it all these days since I had a nail paint on. It doesn't hurt. I wanted to know if it needs further consultation and what is the cause?
