Bitten by pet cat
I've a pet cat who I adopted when he was about a week old over a year and half ago. He is healthy and active cat in all aspects but since his adoption he has never left the house or come in contact with any other animals . Problem is he accidentally bit my hand 2 days ago. There was very little bleeding and I disinfected my cut thoroughly, applied soframycin ointment and then a band-aid. The wound is almost completely healed and barely visible. I have no pains, aches or any discomfort. Now given the history of the cat and my, must I take a rabies injection? My rather paranoid relatives caused me to doubt myself. Apologies for the lengthy question but I hope someone will respond. My thanks in advance. God bless you.
