Biopsy for tongue
Whether ENT doctors will do biopsy for the tongue? I have red patches on top of the tongue which is painful and very sore constantly. I have this since March 2022. Do I need to see an ENT to ask for biopsy or the oral surgeon? Will ENT check tongue issues for biopsies? Does it look cancerous since I have it for an year now.

It is best if you meet an ENT, Head & Neck Surgeon at a dedicated cancer hospital. The oncopathology department there will have all the necessary tools to assess the biopsy sample. Ideally I would do a LASER assisted wedge biopsy of your lesion and suture the margins and the send the excised tissue for histopathology evaluation. That way the biopsy may end up being the only procedure you need.
