Hello I'm Dr. Nikita Iyer. This could be just an aphthous ulcer or could be due to trauma due to a sharp tooth. Sometimes vitamin deficiencies can also cause such a condition. If it is associated with any pain or burning sensation while eating then medications could be started along with a local application of Tess ointment or Zytee gel.
Next Steps
Visit an ENT doctor if there is no improvement in the condition in 3-4 days for a thorough examination.
If there is a sharp tooth brushing against that part of the tongue then visit a dentist for scaling.
Health Tips
Avoid consumption of any hot or spicy food which can cause burning sensation over the tongue.
