Bilateral Inguinal Hernia
Due to swelling and pain in groin area done Ultrasound of abdomen as advised by General Practitioner. Impression- Bilateral Inguinal Hernia Defect in ant.abdominal wall in right and left Inguinal region. Right - Neck of defect 1.3 cms fat as content. Left - 1.2 cms fat as content. The patient is currently undergoing Immunotherapy for Renal Cell Carcinoma, metastasis - Bones , Nodes. Is surgery the only solution for hernia ? Kindly seeking suggestions.

Surgery is only solution but its not necessary to get operated if you dont have complain...it seems small..this hernia are normal in old age....and you havent mentioned anything about prostate size...if you want to operate its your wish bt nota necessity wait n watch....plus look for prostatic symptoms and treat thm first...bcoz its most common cause for hernia at this age...otherwise there may be recurrence...

With the background of metastatic renal cell carcinoma it is not mandatory to treat hernia unless it is causing trouble or disturbing the quality of life . If he is having pain purely related to hernia or not we need to exam-in.
