Big Problem
Hello Doctor, I have been taking Fluoxetine 40 mg (Fluni) for OCD for the last 12 months. Currently I am unable to get Fluni 40 mg, but I have Fludac 60 mg / Flunil 60 mg available. I am not able to afford a paid consultation, so I am requesting guidance here. Can I safely switch to 60 mg dose for 1 month, or should I continue 40 mg with another brand? Please guide me regarding dose adjustment and safety. Also, OCD symptoms include intrusive unwanted sexual ashlil obscene/inappropriate thoughts and mental images involving my mother, which cause significant distress.

Dose increase from 40 mg to 60 mg of fluoxetine should not be done without psychiatrist consultation, as it depends on clinical assessment and side effects. You may continue 40 mg with another brand for now. If you cannot afford private care, please visit a government hospital/medical college psychiatry OPD for proper guidance.
