Dear Doc,
My dad got brain stroke in 2018 and since 20 days there is a behavioral change. He talks to himself imagining someone is sitting next to him. Sleeping during the day and waking at night asking people to take bath during night and everything is changed.

It would appear your dad is suffering from symptoms suggestive of psychosis- a condition of the mind where a person behaves out of character and/ sees, hears, experiences or believes in things that are not real or true.
Since he has already had a stoke previously, he will need a a repeat MRI brain and evaluation from a neurologist. Referral to a psychiatrist could be done once the neurologist has given the all clear.

A detailed medical and psychiatric history is always needed for every case. In addition, a detailed mental status examination is also recommended for every case.
As your father had brain stroke in the past, a detailed medical check up is also needed before starting the treatment. Hypertension, Diabetes etc if present, a detailed medical management is also needed.
Had he any symptoms of memory related issues, it’s to be taken in consideration as the symptoms of the patient may be related to the neurological problems associated with the stroke.

It’s better to have a physician/neurologist’s opinion prior to starting the treatment.
