Bad cough with phelgm
My 18 months old son have bad cough with mucus, but he dont know how to spit it out so when he coughs mucus comes up in his mouth and he takes it back in. Please advice on immediate relief from cough as due to bad cough he is unable to sleep

Place your ear against the back or chest,if you hear whistling sounds in the breathing,that means he's asthmatic,and needs evaluation and treatment by your paediatrician.
If not,give steam inhalations 5-6 times a day for cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal blockade or increased cough on lying down.
