Hi...CT Scan is definitely harmful ...even more harmful to children ..One CT Scan radiation exposure  is equivalent to around 200 X-rays ... radiation exposure is one of the risk factors for development of cancer later on ...the chances of cancer development is more in children who underwent CT scan than those who don't ...So CT scan must be done only if it's definitely needed and must be avoided if Ultrasound or MRI is sufficient for diagnosis...
