Hello ! There is no reason to worry at present as toddlers tend to be picky eaters . But there are some tips that can help increase your child’s appetite gradually .
Next Steps
1. Make your child drink water regularly, as it will keep him hydrated and also improve digestion by activating digestive enzymes and juices .
2. Smaller meals : instead of 3 regular portions of food , try to give smaller portions and also add snacks like fruits or nuts in between the meals .
3. Include zinc : zinc is an essential mineral that boosts appetite in children . Some food sources of zinc that you can include in the diet are : nuts , beans , spinach , mushrooms .
4 . Include iron : it has been found in several studies that one in eight toddlers tend to be anemic before the age of two years . Include eggs, spinach, lentils in the diet.
5. Fruit based Desserts ! : in the toddler phase , the taste that Is preferred most by babies is sweet ! So fruit based desserts ( with addition of apple / banana /grapes ) can really soothe the taste buds of your child .please AVOID processed sugars .
6. Exploration : set up cooking activities for your child, like a simulation kitchen set , kids are more likely to enjoy food and get curious to try new foods when they feel involved in the cooking process .
7 . If deworming with Albendazole syrup has not been done even once , give your child a single dose of syrup zentel 5 ml .
