Axillary tail
I have axillary tail of Spence since 15 yrs now ,i have shown it to gyanecs and they say it's normal, i have done my breast ultrasound last year and nothing unusual came out in it. I am scared of breast cancer , is ultrasounds good or do we need to do mammograms as well? I occasionally have soreness in my right breast area and right side back

It is very difficult to say if mammography is superior or inferior to sono-mammography . We use sono-mammography more often in lean and thin patients where breast mass is less. We use X ray mammography where the breast mass is more. If a lesion can be picked up on either modality of investigations then we can go for  FNAC.  Without seeing a lesion in mammography it will be futile to attempt FNAC.

Axillary tail is a common finding. It will not cause cancer. If you are too scared then better go for breast MRI rather than mammogram at your age.
