Dear doctor my 10 year son is asthmatic doctor prescribe  daily steroid inhaler 2 times and also he needs Prednisone 20 mg for 5 days every 4 to 5 months my question is long term using steroid inhaler will make him immunocompromised if happens this what to do?

kindly give him inhalers regulary and correctly that is very important ..he might not be taking it correctly that is why he is having exacerbation .. and steroid is very neccessary for his asthma control it will not have systemic side effect as it acts locally ..

He can take inhalers. Oral steroids are given by specialist depending upon the situation, for short periods.pl consult pulmonologist with detailed history and reports and treatment taken for better evaluation and treatment.

continue inhaler..that is safe..and instead of steroid tab we can switch him to nebs..that will be safe for him
