Hi, everything that you eat your body converts it into a certain energy which alot of people also understand in terms of calories, for example 100 calories means that this particular food will provide you with 100 calories of energy, your body then utilises energy to help you perform different tasks through out the day.
Basically energy can be harvested from food by the body and this energy is important for human body to perform any task or activity.
