First of all, self diagnosis is not accurate especially when it comes to mental health disorders. Secondly, self medication is a dangerous thing to do. Thirdly, only medication won't improve your condition.
Next Steps
Consult an Ayurveda Psychiatrist or an Allopathy psychiatrist to get properly diagnosed and get treated along with counseling and psychoeducation.
Health Tips
Please don't go to general practitioners (including ayurveda) but only to properly certified Psychiatrist in any field of medicine.

Ashwagandharishta can help in anxiety, especially when symptoms are related to stress, mental fatigue, disturbed sleep, or reduced mental strength. It acts as a Rasayana and Medhya, helping to calm the nervous system, improve sleep quality, and support mild anxiety and low mood. However, if anxiety and depressive symptoms are long-standing, recurrent, or significantly affecting daily life, Ashwagandharishta alone may not be sufficient, and a more individualized Ayurvedic approach is required.
Next Steps
Continue Ashwagandharishta as advised for a few weeks and observe symptom improvement. If anxiety persists or worsens, consult an Ayurvedic physician for proper assessment of dosha involvement and to plan additional medicines or therapies. Along with medication, focus on regular sleep, stress management, and relaxation practices.
Health Tips
Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, irregular sleep, and prolonged screen exposure at night. If symptoms like persistent low mood, panic attacks, or suicidal thoughts occur, seek immediate medical consultation and do not rely on self-medication alone.

Short answer: **yes—Ashwagandharishta *can* help anxiety**, but **by itself it’s often not enough**, especially if anxiety has been there on-and-off for years. Let me explain clearly and honestly 👇 --- ## Will Ashwagandharishta help anxiety? **Yes**, it helps in: * Calming the nervous system * Reducing stress-related fatigue * Improving sleep quality * Supporting mild anxiety & low mood It works best when anxiety is due to: * Mental exhaustion * Poor sleep * Work stress * General weakness (Vata imbalance) So your dose **15 ml morning + 15 ml evening** is **within standard range** 👍 --- ## But here’s the important truth Ashwagandharishta is **not a strong anti-anxiety medicine** for: * Long-standing anxiety * Panic feelings * Anxiety with depression * Overthinking + fear + palpitations In Ayurveda terms, it mainly nourishes **Majja & Shukra dhatu**, but anxiety primarily involves **Manovaha srotas + Vata-Raja imbalance**. --- ## How to make it actually work better ### 1️⃣ Take it the right way * Take **after food** * Mix with **equal quantity of lukewarm water** * Continue for **6–8 weeks**, not on-off --- ### 2️⃣ What usually needs to be added (doctor-guided) Ask your vaidya about **one** of these (not all together): * ****Vataka** (very effective for anxiety + low mood) * ****** (better for anxiety with overthinking) * *****Ghrita** (if anxiety + poor sleep + mental fatigue) These directly act on the mind. --- ### 3️⃣ Small daily habits that decide success (very important) Even the best medicine fails if these are ignored: * Sleep before **11 pm** * Reduce caffeine (tea/coffee) * Daily **10 minutes slow breathing** (deep nasal breathing) * Avoid phone use 1 hour before bed --- ## ⚠️ Safety notes * Ashwagandharishta is **safe for long-term use** in most people * Avoid if you have: * Hyperthyroidism * Severe acidity or gastritis (can increase Pitta) If you feel **burning, palpitations, irritability**, reduce dose to **10 ml twice daily**. --- ## When Ayurveda alone may not be enough If you have: * Suicidal thoughts * Severe panic attacks * Inability to function daily 👉 Combine Ayurveda **with psychological support**—this is not weakness, it’s wisdom. --- ### Bottom line 🌱 ✔️ Ashwagandharishta **helps** ❌ But **rarely sufficient alone** for chronic anxiety ✅ Best results come when combined with mind-specific medicines + routine correction If you want, tell me: * How long you’ve had anxiety * Your sleep quality * Any palpitations, fear, or digestive issues I’ll tailor the plan precisely for you. Advice- self medication is hazardous, always consult ayurvedic doctor before taking ayurvedic medicine. Consult me personally for details

Namastey Thank you for sharing your concern. Anxiety and depression can affect both the mind and body, and it’s good that you have started treatment. Ashwagandharishta is helpful in reducing anxiety, stress, mental fatigue, and improving sleep and overall strength; if advised by a Ayurvedic physician. But alone medication will not help you completely. For issues like your, counselling and diagnosis of your root cause and it’s required resolution and treatment will give you exact significant results. Anxiety and depression occur due to dysregulation of stress hormones and neurotransmitters. In Ayurveda, this relates to imbalance of vata dosha mainly in association with pitta or kapha; and disturbance of manovaha strotas. We also have to check your sleep quality, bowel habit, appetite, activities of daily routine and food habits.
Next Steps
Please consult us for exact treatment and care.
Health Tips
You can start applying oil massage before sleep on feet. Thank you
