Antidepressants
Hello Doc I am on pexep cr 25mg and clonotril 0.25mg every night from last 1year I still get anxiety attacks occasionally(like one in 10-15days) But feel my throat dry, sudden choking and numbness in palm and feet speacilly after waking up and during the sleep. My questions are two : Is it due to medicines ? And is consuming antidepressants safe for a longer period? What if the medicines lead to any other disease

Your dose of medicine needs to be optimised. You can continue this medicine with minimal side effects. Be careful regarding use of paroxetine in pregnancy

While dry mouth and occasional numbness could be a medication side effect, the way you're describing them- it sounds more like anxiety. You might require an adjustment of the dose to help with your symptoms.
Next Steps
Reach out to a psychiatrist

Hi I appreciate that you reach out with your concern It sounds like you're experiencing some distressing symptoms despite being on medication. Dry throat, choking sensations, and numbness in the extremities can indeed be associated with anxiety, but it's essential to consider all potential factors, including medication side effects. Pexep CR (paroxetine) and Clonotril (clonazepam) are commonly prescribed for anxiety disorders, but they can have side effects, including dry mouth and numbness. It's crucial to discuss your concerns with your prescribing doctor. Regarding the safety of long-term antidepressant use, while these medications can be effective and safe for many individuals, it's essential to monitor for any adverse effects or changes in health. Regular check-ups with your doctor can help assess your overall well-being and address any concerns about potential risks. If you're worried about the possibility of developing other diseases, your doctor can provide guidance based on your specific health profile and any potential risk factors. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider is key to ensuring you receive the best possible care. As your ailment is since a year and you are on pill....you are not getting relief.....my advice is you start psychotherapy specially CBT along with meds
