Hi all, I am suffering from anxiety and depression for last couple of months...tried 2 allopathy medicines (Nexito 5 mg and D veniz 50) but couldn't continue because I kept sleeping for 24 hrs after taking them. I got scared of the side effects and hence discontd. Now I am on ayurveda but can't see much difference even after a month.. Planning to try allopathy again but scared of the side effects...can anyone guide me how to go about it? How long will it take to subside side effects of allopathy medicines? Do they really work better than ayurveda? Which is the mildest and safest antidepressant that I can try?

Hello there. Sorry to hear of your difficulties. There are alternate options for antidepressants that will not have sedation. Kindly meet your psychiatrist and discuss your past inability to tolerate the prescribed medications and your doctor will prescribe you alternate medications. Best wishes.
Next Steps
Please reach out to your psychiatrist and explain your difficulty with the previous medications. Your doctor will do the needful.

Hello,
Usually patients adopt to Side Effects within couple of weeks. There are no major and permanent side effects of anti depressant medications.
However they take 4 to 6 weeks time to show improvement.
