ANTI Microsomal (TPO) antibody > 1300
My wife is pregnant, her TSH : 10.26 / T3 : 3.9 / T4 : 11.3 / TPO antibody : >1300. She was taking 50 mcg, and doctor now recommended 100 mcg. I am worried about the increased TPO. Kindly suggest if the increased TPO is something to worry about?

Having TPO positive indicates that she has autoimmune thyroid disease ( AITD) . AITD is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. This just tells us about the cause of hypothyroidism. So Nothing to worry . Your doctor has done right , he has increased the dose of thyroxine. Target TSH in first trimester of pregnancy is < 2:5 And in 2nd and 3rd trimester is < 3
Next Steps
Repeat TSH , T4 , FT4 after 4 weeks
