You need to first learn correct way of stretching all large muscle groups and light weight strength training, your Physio and trainer should team up and design a program to maintain your range of motion specifically for spine and hip joints .
Swimming will be the most important part and beneficial too in your case . Do learn basic aqua aerobics from your Physio .
