This looks like an ankle sprain (ligament injury) after twisting. Pain increasing after a few hours is common due to swelling and inflammation. However, you should consider a fracture if: • You cannot bear weight (take 4 steps) • There is significant swelling/bruising • Pain is localized over bone
Next Steps
• Follow RICE protocol: – Rest (avoid weight bearing) – Ice (15–20 min, 3–4 times/day) – Compression (crepe bandage) – Elevation (keep foot raised) • Pain relief: – Continue paracetamol – If needed, add anti-inflammatory (after doctor advice) • Get X-ray if: – Unable to walk – Pain worsening after 24 hours – Severe swelling
Health Tips
• Avoid massage in first 48 hours • Use ankle support/brace • Gradual return to walking after pain reduces • Do gentle exercises after 3–5 days (if pain improves) ⚠️ Red flags: • Severe pain even at rest • Deformity • Numbness ⸻

Go for x ray. Keep ankle splinted, give it rest. For pain you can take tab flexon m.r one every 8hours for 4 days, after meals.
