Hi, ANA is blood test and IFA is a subtype of that test. The report of this test will exhibit 2 parameters - the intensity of the positive result and the pattern of result, both of which together will be indicative of some Autoimmune disease.
These diseases include Lupus, Systemic Sclerosis, AI hepatitis to name a few.
However it can be false positive or falsely negative also in certain situations hence it's important that there is a clinical suspicion before going forward with this test.
