Using extra virgin olive oil

So my family has been using extra virgin olive oil for cooking since 2 years now. I recently read that cooking everyday food and smoking extra virgin olive oil to a high smoking point can lead to cancer. I am a bit scared. Should we continue cooking in extra virgin olive oil or should shift to something else.

Well it’s a true fact which you read because Extra virgin olive oil has a low smoking point it can’t be heated or cooked into. Actually no Indian cooking can be done in virgin olive oil but instead you may cook in a cold-pressed mustard oil/sesame oil/A2 cows ghee as they have a higher smoking point hence the fat doesn’t turn rancid unlike fats with low smoking point

Daily fat intake must be no more than 3-4tsp/day & ensure you use a high & good quality fat like cold-pressed oil & A2cows ghee/ cold-pressed coconut oil

Extra virgin olive oil is heat sensitive. Use always different types of oil, but don't mix them. For example:- 1 month you may use rice bran oil like that.. Olive oil, walnut oil, flaxseed oil isbest choice for salad dressings, with chapati or top office khichadi.. etc

Healthy afternoon, Extra virgin olive oil is loaded with antioxidants ( other oils do not ) do it is quite resistant to oxidation, and the only way it can develop carcinogens is if it is burnt and then consumed Also you can use for cooking Peanut oil Sunflower seeds Rice bran oil

Yes it is After using them use fresh oil again Don't use same for cooking again as change in colour is also sign of burning nutrition
