TMJ disorder- suggestion for surgery
Hi, I had clicking sound in my ear while speaking. no pain on any side. Mild dizziness. Eating soft food for pass one month. I hear clicking sound on opening my mouth wide on left and crashing sound on right while closing.
I went to the oral surgeon and based on his suggestion did MRI. based on mri doctor is suggesting to go under surgery.
I took second opinion with dental surgeon and he said no need for surgery. He is suggesting spIint for upper and orthotic splint for lower jaw quoting 25K.
MRI REPORT: ADD WITH REDUCTION one left joint. THINNING AND DEGENERATION OF CENTRAL PORTION on right joint.
I have been in great stress to understand whom to follow.

The useage of splint would be a better choice , as it decreases the amount of force being taken on by the TMJ , as the amount force or the loading of the joint is decreased , the problem being disc displacement with reduction will get subsided due to unloading of the left joint , and Due to the unloading there won’t be even more degeneration of the of the centre of joint on the right side.
