Thank you for reaching out , Juli Rai .
Since your
thyroid laboratory reports were completely normal just three months ago, we should not change your Thyronorm dosage based on a single, isolated blood test.
TSH levels can occasionally fluctuate due to temporary factors like minor stress, changes in daily routine, or slight variations in how your medication was absorbed recently. Because your T3 and T4 levels are still looking normal, your body is currently getting an adequate supply of thyroid hormone.
Please let me know if you are currently experiencing any Unusual or worsening fatigue and lethargy, Unexplained weight gain,
Increased sensitivity to cold temperatures,
Dry skin or hair thinning,or Constipation?
Have you started taking any new medications,
calcium supplements, or iron tablets? These can block thyroid hormone absorption if taken too close to your Thyronorm dose.Have you missed any doses recently, or changed the timing? Are you using the exact same brand of medication as before?
Next Steps
Keep an eye out for any noticeable signs of an underactive
thyroid.
Unusual or worsening fatigue and lethargy
Unexplained weight gain
Increased sensitivity to cold temperatures
Dry skin or hair thinning
Constipation
Instead of changing the dose now, please repeat your
TSH test in 4 to 6 weeks.
Continue taking your current 25 mcg dose exactly as prescribed by your thyroid specialist.
If you take
calcium, iron, antacids, or multivitamins, take them at least 4 hours apart from your Thyronorm. These supplements bind to the thyroid hormone in your gut and prevent it from working.
Ensure you take THYRONORM - FIRST thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water, at least 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, tea, or coffee.
Once you repeat your TSH test in 4 to 6 weeks, please do not hesitate to share the new report with me.
To ensure you get the best and most accurate guidance, I highly recommend that you connect with me personally here on Practo for a direct consultation. This will allow us to securely review both of your lab reports side-by-side, discuss any subtle symptoms you might be experiencing.
Wishing you good health!
Health Tips
Thyroid hormone replacement is highly precise. Never increase or decrease your dose of Thyronorm (such as moving to 37.5mcg) on your own based on a single lab report. Changing your dose without medical supervision can cause your thyroid to become overactive, leading to complications like heart palpitations, anxiety, insomnia, or bone thinning.Any final decision to change your medication strength must be made by a physician who manages your care, after they have reviewed both your physical symptoms and a confirmatory blood test.
