Sir, removal of tooth is a method of gaining space to aligned the arch. But you tell, you had a complaint of spacing in upper front teeth, then why you extract upper premolar tooth. Because when extraction, then you get more space and how to accommodate the upper arch and lower arch. So now this is essential of extraction in lower arch.
But you want to close space in upper arch only then extraction in upper arch not required. But when you want to correct the profile for prognathism (protrusion), then extraction sometimes required and also requirements of braces in lower arch followed by extraction.
