Hi! Oats, nuts-almonds, cashew, walnut- are quite high in a substance called Oxalate. Most type of kidney stones are formed when oxalates are high in the body and the kidney is unable to flush it out. It’s best to AVOID these , and choose safer alternatives. Apart from oats and nuts, there are plenty of other foods and food combinations that must be avoided to ensure faster recovery. To recommend alternatives it is necessary to do a detailed assessment of what kind of stone you have, size of stone, duration of illness, current medication.
Next Steps
Avoid high protein, high oxalate and calcium foods, consult on practo.com for further advice
Health Tips
Don’t follow dietary changes without expert advice or prescription .
