Smoking after wisdom tooth extraction

2024-12-27 14:43:55
Hi , It has been ten days since all four of my wisdom tooth were extracted and two were compacted .. I am a very moderate smoker ( 1 to 3 a day) and I feel the urge to smoke very badly and I understand that it is bad and should be able to quit by now but I am unable to . Can I smoke now or are they chances that I may develop a dry socket still ?

It’s generally advisable to avoid smoking for at least 2 weeks after an extraction to ensure proper healing and avoid complications like dry socket. Since it’s been 10 days, healing might be underway, but smoking can still delay it or irritate the site. If possible, try to wait a few more days.
