Hello,
Your radiating pain could be due to nerve root compression because of the slip disc. U have been o bed rest for 6 months and it has helped with your pain. But pain in sitting could be because of wrong posture and over working and weakness of back muscles. You need to build muscle strength and adopt proper posture.
Next Steps
Consult a Physiotherapist with your MRI report and start doing exercises under supervision. Physiotherapist will help with pain management, nerve mobilization and back muscles and core strengthening exercises depending on your level of disc prolapse and muscle strength. Doing exercises without consulting might aggravate your pain.
Health Tips
1. Use hot pack for back pain.
2. For pain in hip area or lower leg use ice packs as doing hot pack there might cause nerve irritation.
3. Avoid forward bending.
4. Don't sit or stand for longer periods of time. If you have to take frequent breaks in between.
Thank you.
