Sleep related problems

2026-05-15 20:06:40
I am unable to get proper sleep since last 4 to 5 days. My sleep cycle seems disturbed where I am either sleeping at 3 am or 6 am at morning and hence waking up at noon. This is sudden and haven't experienced such symptoms before. My normal sleep cycle is 11 pm to 8 am, somewhere around those timings of proper 8 hours. Due to poor sleep, I am feeling like my mind is not shutting down and I am having overthinking and stress at night. How to solve this and get back into proper sleep cycle?

Try to avoid late evening meals,  heavy meals in evening.  Try to sleep at fixed time daily, before on bed, read some good literature  or say prayers. Avoid watching t.v. or mobile screen till late in evening.

First, take comfort in knowing that a sudden 4-to-5-day disruption in your sleep is incredibly common and entirely reversible. You are experiencing an acute state of Sleep Hyperarousal driven by a stress loop. When you experience overthinking or stress at night, your body releases cortisol and adrenaline (your fight-or-flight hormones). These stress chemicals directly block your brain's natural production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for making you feel sleepy and anchoring your biological master clock. Because your brain associates your bed with frustration and overthinking rather than sleep, your internal clock (circadian rhythm) has temporarily shifted forward. This is a behavioral flare-up, not a permanent sleep disorder.
