SGOT ratio is higher than SGPT

I am having hepatitis and suddenly my sgot is higher then sgpt what could be the reason is this happening due to hepatitis or is it indicating something else?

It could be due to hepatitis or fatty liver.Get hepatitis hepatitis b s Ag , C antibody screening tests and ultrasound abdomen to correlate with the elevated liver enzymes.

I would suggest you to repeat the test and do it from licensed and certified lab and as your serum bilirubin is normal, will have to look for other causes than liver/hepatitis.

SGOT is a non specific test. It can be raised even without Hepatitis. Your SGPT is also very high, suggesting Hepatitis. You don't have jaundice. Please get your sonography scan of the whole abdomen and also get your Viral markers for Hepatitis. Consult a General Physician with the report.
