I have a cavity in the first molar and the root canal is also done. But still it is paining. Why is this happening?

Take an Xray of RC Treated tooth, check if there is any infection, if there is any infection,you might need to get the re root canal done.

please provide more details as to when was rct done. if it was done recently then it is normal and you need to take medications. other causes may include improper cleaning, residual infection, reinfection and many more. can be diagnosed only after a clinical examination

How long back was Rct done?? Now we need to take  xray, there mite be a reinfection so we will have to  repeat the treatment.. Thank you

Sometimes you do get pain post RCT, reason can be residual infection or an inflammatory reaction due to instrumentation. You can go back to your dentist and may be get the tooth relieved from occlusion.

Hi it could be due to a flare up. .should continue with an anti inflammatory for 1 week. .kindly get it cross checked from an endodontist. .and repeat the X ray. .take care

Hi Pain can be due to incomplete root canal. You need to take an X Ray and reconfirm it from an endodontist. Also make sure you get capping done post root canal Regards

Mild pain after the root canal treatment for a few days is acceptable, but a prolonged duration indicates that either the root canal procedure was not properly done or is showing signs of infection..... please visit a dentist for a proper clinical examination and an x ray of the tooth to evaluate the case better.... Regards....

Hi It's not unusual to have pain for a day or two after root canal treatment .But if it's more than that then u need to get X-ray of the tooth done to evaluate any reinfection .Doctor would have given u a course of antibiotics.. hope u have finished that .Kindly get your self checked at the latest to find the root cause of problem.

Hi . Got to check if root canal done properly or not . Also rule out any sinus cold allergy . As a specialist for a root canal I would suggest pl get it verified with an Endodontist. Also check when does it pain -on chewing??Tc
