OPG is a two dimensional study ,so exact location of the nerve canal cannot be ascertained. Though the canal outline can be traced ,it still lies in close proximity ,as seen in your x ray. If CBCT can be afforded and available ,then can be done as the tooth definitely needs surgical removal. If not possible ,then the doctor will take extra precautions during the surgery .
